The YCS Belthangady Deanery Convention was held on 17th August 2025 at St. Raphael Church, Badyar, with vibrant participation of students, animators. The day began with a prayer song and a welcome dance, followed by the inaugural program presided over by Rev. Fr. Anil, YCS Deanery Director, in the presence of Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Cunha, YCS Director Central Council Diocese of Mangalore, Rev. Fr. Roshan Crasta, Parish Priest and YCS Director of Badyar Church, Mrs. Premalatha Frank, former YCS Animator and Vice President of Parish Council Badyar, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mrs. Shanthi Dsouza and Coordinator Mrs. Gretta Dcosta, YCS Belthangady Deanery Animator Mr. Santhosh Dsouza, Mr. Praneeth, Deanery President and Miss Viyola, Deanery Secretary. After inauguration In his message Fr. Roshan D’Cunha motivated the students by reminding them that YCS is a stepping stone and a platform for growth, and success comes through commitment.
A special highlight of the day was the launch of the YCS Belthangady Deanery Logo designed by Ms. Vishmitha Dsouza from Madanthyar. The diocesan team under the leadership of Fr. Roshan conducted various sessions and activities where he explained the YCS methodology of See–Judge–Act–Evaluate encouraging students to be thinkers and doers in society, while Dr.Keerthana addressed the dangers of drug abuse and its harmful effects on health, family and society. The Holy Mass was celebrated at noon by Fr. Anil Avild Lobo, which enriched the spiritual spirit of the gathering, followed by lunch.
In the afternoon Fr. Alwyn Dsouza, Director of the Family Life Centre, spoke on cult marriage, helping students to recognise unhealthy influences, make responsible choices, and value true Christian marriage. The valedictory programme included the honouring of students.Outgoing executive members, animators, sponsors and well-wishers were also felicitated. In his concluding message Fr. Anil appreciated the dedication of the Deanery team and shared an inspiring example of milk and curd, symbolising the transformation YCS students can bring to society through faith in action. The YCS Convention 2025 at Badyar was a grand success filled with inspiring sessions, joyful fellowship and meaningful celebration of the YCS spirit.
This program witnessed a significant attendance of 120 participants.It was beautifully organized by the YCS animators and members of Badyar.
