Refresher programme for the Sunday Catechism teachers

St Jacob Deanery, Belthangady organized a half day refresher programme for the Sunday Catechism teachers on September 7,2025 at Badyar Parish hall under the guidance of Fr.Edwin Monis,[Parish Priest ,Venur] Catechism coordinator of the deanery and leadership of Fr.Roshan Crasta ,Parish Priest,Badyar. The programme began with the prayer led by Sr.Sarita and team.Mrs.Premalatha Frank  extended a warm welcome to the respected guests and participants.Fr.Roshan Crasta, the parish priest of Badyar in his address appreciated the hard work and sacrifices the Catechists put in for educating the children of the parish in Catholic faith. Mrs.Gretta Dcosta,Co.ordintor of Catechism teachers,Badyar  introduced the resource person Fr.Bonifas Pinto,Rector,Divyadhama Seminary,Udupi Diocese and proposed vote of thanks. Fr Bonifas Pinto during his session enlightened the gathering on the importance of teaching the Holy Bible to the children during the Catechism classes, and gave good examples of teaching the Bible in simple ways. He pointed out that there is a need that our catechesis should be a role model for bringing a change in the young children, providing practical every day tips to the children, like spontaneous prayer, self-help, relationship with family members, friends and community life.Mrs Renita Lasrado was the master of ceremony for the programme. The half day programme was enriching and memorable.The training was followed by Holy Mass and a fellowship meal.95 teachers from the Deanery participated in this program.
